Can we discuss this one in class? I am clueless.

Hi everyone,
Here are two of my favorite sayings from Pursah’s version of the Gospel of Thomas:
2. J said, “Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and they will reign over all.”
Renard, Gary R.. Your Immortal Reality: How to Break the Cycle of Birth and Death (p. 162). Hay House. Kindle Edition.
This is very subtle, but very powerful. One dictionary definition of “disturbed” is having had its normal pattern or function disrupted. That helped me get in touch with exactly what I fear. My “normal” or default thought system, that of the ego, is my comfort zone. When I am in that thought system I am fearful of everything and not thinking at all!
I must be in right mind and ask for HS’s interpretation of everything I see to create that disruption. I cannot do it myself. When I ask for Her help, I do marvel. It is all about practicing forgiveness, which means giving up my authorship and trusting in His.
9. J said, “Look, the sower went out, took a handful of seeds, and scattered them. Some fell on the road, and the birds came and ate them. Others fell on the rocks, and they didn’t take root and didn’t produce grain. Others fell on the thorns, and they choked the seed and the worms ate them. And others fell on good soil, and it produced a good crop; it yielded sixty per measure and one hundred twenty per measure.”

I love this because before I started studying the Course, I struggled with the meaning of this famous parable. I was caught in the illusion of scarcity.
This quote reminds me of Principle 35 which says that Jesus (not I) is in charge of miracles. And He is the Atonement. I should never perform miracles indiscriminately, and when I give the process over to Him, miracles will occur spontaneously, when they should. It also addresses my belief in scarcity, instead of abundance.
Here is part of that text:
One of the major problems with miracle workers is that they are so sure that what they are doing is right, because they know it stems from love, that they frequently do not pause to let me establish my limits. 2While what they do comes from me, they often cannot be induced to ask me each time whether I want them to perform this particular miracle. 3If they did, they would not perform any miracles that could not get through constructively, and would thus save themselves unnecessary strain. 4Instead, some burn themselves out with indiscriminate miracles, and to this extent do not fulfill their own full purpose. 5 The answer is to never perform a miracle without asking me if you should.
2This spares you from exhaustion. 3Just because miracles are expressions of love, it does not follow that they will always be effective. 4I am the only one who can perform miracles indiscriminately, because I am the Atonement. 5You have a role in the Atonement, which I will dictate to you. 6 Remember, you already have a principle about the involuntary nature of miracles.
2We have also established the fact that everything involuntary belongs under Christ-control, not yours.3Under Christ-control, miracles replenish the doer as well as the receiver. 4Miracle workers must learn Christ-control to replace their former habits, which did produce scarcity in place of abundance. 5From errors of this kind the sense of deprivation is inevitable, but very easily corrected.

I love this book “Your Immortal Reality” and bought it after the class of “Disappearance of the Universe. I bought the book used from Thrift books. When I received it, I opened the front cover, and it was signed “To Lorraine with Love Gary Renard. – it brought a smile to my face as we no longer have need, we can pass it on to others

Nice, Angela! No attachment to form is an essential ingredient for a mind at peace.
Here’s a little inspiration based on a few of the recent lessons, before the first review.
No Thing to Fear
“There’s nothing to fear!”
The Great Spirit
Is right now and right here!
And It’s softly whispering
“God is the strength
In which I trust!”
“God is The Love
In which I forgive!”
And we know:
“As we give,
We shall receive!”
Sacred Silence…
…Is…the Present
And The Presence
Of
“I Am That!”…
…Forever closer
Than very near!
Yes, I Am, as us…
Always inviting…
With Its open, tender Heart,
To celebrate!…
So Let’s play Heaven,
And with Great Joy,
Let’s Cheer! (Hahahah!)
Thank you for sharing this Alex.

Hi John, EveryOne!
In course related classes, as in “Your Immortal Reality,” the idea of a prayer at the beginning and at the end, appeals to me. The times it has been done, I feel an energetic difference.
What think you Guys?
Alex,
I love that idea. It needn’t be long… just a setting of the tone of silent listening… opening our minds to what we already Know.
Mary
I’m all for that, Alex. Thank you for suggesting that. And thank you for another beautiful and joyful poem! Much love to you, my brother!
I appreciate the way you present the ACIM material in a manner that this recovering Catholic turned Agnostic can begin to understand. “God did not send the Holy Spirit to rescue you.” from chapter 2 of Gary’s book tells me I am responsible for doing the work….
So happy to hear that the material is resonating with you, Bud! And yes, you are the captain of your ship, which reminds me of this quote:
T-6.VI.2
2 Abilities must be developed or you cannot use them. ²This is not true of anything that God created, but it is the kindest solution possible to what you have made. ³In an impossible situation, you can develop your abilities to the point where they can get you out of it. ⁴You have a Guide to how to develop them, but you have no commander except yourself. ⁵This leaves you in charge of the Kingdom, with both a Guide to find it and a means to keep it. ⁶You have a model to follow who will strengthen your command and never detract from it in any way. ⁷You therefore retain the central place in your perceived enslavement, a fact which itself demonstrates that you are not enslaved.
🙏 thank-you Brother, encouraging and inspiring 🙏
