A Parenthesis in Eternity: Part Two Class Page

Session 1 In our first class, we looked at chapter 13, The Unillumined and the Illumined, where Joel makes the distinction between those who are cut off from the inner realm of their own being and those who have come to learn how to enter in and be at rest in the “light of the…

Hello dear ones:-) I truly love & appreciate Joel‘s teachings…for me, the Parenthesis has been a true treasure teaching, deeply enriching (as well as clarifying) my (the) path. A technical question: this week‘s recording Nr 6 cuts off after 55 minutes…if it’s not just on my end and the rest of the recording exists, please post it. Thank you❣️ Katharina

    1. Hello, my sista! Bummer to hear about the vid not being complete, but great to hear from you! I am in the process of getting the backup loaded and posted. Figure sometime tomorrow it should be available to view. Apologies for the inconvenience.

When Joel speaks of initiation, ” he defines Initiation is an act bestowed on individuals at a certain time in their unfoldment. My experience with initiation was many years ago when studying with a group of Native Americans in the Medicine Society. I was attracted to how they lived and they were willing to teach me. The first lessons were balance – learning to live in balance with all in my life; also, not to take more than I needed. I also learned that you cannot take without giving something in return; for example, if you cut corn for food, you would spread sage in the field and thank God and the plant for nourishment. I studied with them for six months – I still practice many of the lessons learned were very spiritual.

    1. That’s beautiful, Angela. Precious teachings that encourage us to “walk the gentle way.”

I loved Chapter 18 it reminded me of the Course in Miracles lessons .

  4. John, I am not sure I know what this means.

But whether we struggled for a healing or to be free of sin, false appetite, or lack, what we were really struggling for was to get back to our Father’s house, to drop this sense of the personal “I,” and once more rest in the assurance that we are not a prodigal. In that earnest longing and struggling, this false sense of self drops away, and greater harmony appears. In our ignorance we call that a healing. It is not: it is the more-appearing of our divine Selfhood.
    (pp. 184-185). Kindle Edition.
I do not understand the last sentence. Should I read it as “it is the appearing of our divine Selfhood”? Or, “…the remembrance of our divine Selfhood”?
    Thanks.

    1. Read it as, “the more-appearing.” As the separate-I is released, along with all of its appetites, desires, hopes, fears, arrogated beliefs, etc. the veil thins. The seeker becomes more aware that it seeks Itself, its destination is Itself, hence the “more-appearing.”

John – it was just a test post – Mary asked me to try it, I did not know how to test.

Great class. I so appreciate Sandy sharing about the morning meditation being so helpful and practical. Also, Jon, as you shared not trying from the human level help but taking to the altar in the meditation!
What is that line about our “good intentions?”

    1. Bingo!
