8 weeks on Zoom beginning Tuesday August 11th, from 7:00-8:30pm EST.
In this book study we will be embarking upon a journey through the Course’s teaching on “The Obstacles to Peace,” as seen through the lens of Ken Wapnick’s brilliant and extended commentary. Ken’s book is a tour de force that encapsulates the entire thought system of A Course In Miracles, “tying together all of the major themes of the Course” and presenting them in an accessible, and easily digestible, framework.
Just as Jesus composed the Course as a glorious holographic symphony of salvation that repeats and expands on the leitmotif of our ascension back up the spiral of time, and back into God’s open arms, Ken, too, uses a similar method of symphonic repetition that ensures we understand what we are learning.
In the section of the Course, “The Obstacles to Peace” (T-19.IV), Jesus presents the four major blocks and hidden psychological traps that keep us in a state of fear and alienation from ourselves, each other, and God. The Journey Home gives us an invaluable resource that drills down into these unconscious decisions designed to protect the ego’s tyranny over our minds. Ken’s book helps us to expose them to the light of the Holy Spirit’s teaching that will “shine them away into nothingness.”
As we are told in the Course, “this is a journey without distance to a goal that has never changed.” Elsewhere in the Text (T-13.VIII.4), we are reminded of the comfort provided by the Holy Spirit, Who is our constant Companion on the road back Home:
Under His guidance, you will travel light and journey lightly, for His sight is ever on the journey’s end, which is His goal. God’s Son is not a traveler through outer worlds. However holy his perception may become, no world outside himself holds his inheritance. Within himself he has no needs, for light needs nothing but to shine in peace, and from itself to let the rays extend in quiet to infinity.
So come and join us for the first leg of our three-legged journey. No need to pack, but rather unpack. This is a trip for sure! A vacation where we can celebrate losing our baggage.
